About us
Around 150 beers, most of them new to you
Chillin Hopfen-Treff is a craft beer bar in the south of Stuttgart. We keep around 150 beers in the house and the tap list changes most weeks, because we like trying new things as much as you do.
A lot of it comes from breweries near us, some we drive to the Alsace to pick up ourselves, and every so often we team up with a local brewery to brew something of our own.
There's a bit of Ireland in here too, in the beer and in the room. The one thing every beer has in common is that we thought it was worth drinking.

The room
The room is built for staying a while. Old armchairs instead of bar stools, soft corners, nothing that rushes you out the door.
Most nights it's a mix of people who know craft beer well and people who have never really had it. We like both.
Half the fun is sitting down with someone, finding out what they like, and putting something new in front of them.

The beer
The heart of it is the beer. Around 150 bottles and cans in the fridge, plus a tap wall that changes most weeks, so there's always something you haven't had yet.
It ranges from crisp lagers to hazy IPAs, dark stouts and sour, funky things, brewed near us, carried back from the Alsace, or made with a local brewery just for us.
Not sure where to start? Tell us what you usually drink and we'll pour you a taster. Finding your next favourite is the whole point.

The food
The food is short and it's personal. Vanessa is Italian, and the Pinsa is her doing.
We make the dough fresh in house and let it rest until it bakes up light and crisp, nothing like a heavy pizza.
The toppings stay simple and good, from a plain Margherita to a Bianca with rocket and Parma ham.

Mark & Vanessa
Chillin Hopfen-Treff is run by Mark and Vanessa, a couple. Mark fell for craft beer first. Vanessa wasn't a beer person at all, not even slightly.
But over time she grew curious and began trying things for herself. Somewhere along the way it clicked, and now she's as deep into it as he is.
That's really the whole idea behind the bar. Good beer has a way of winning people over, and we like being there when it happens.
